Slice

Privacy policy

Last updated: 11 June 2026.

This policy explains what personal data Slice collects when you use the Slice mobile app and the slice.coach website, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it.

Data controller

Slice is operated by Harry Lawrence ("Slice", "we"). For any privacy question or request: support@slice.coach.

What this policy covers

It covers the Slice app (for players and coaches) and the slice.coach website, including coach sign-up and public profile pages. It does not cover third-party services we link to, such as Stripe's payment pages or a club's own website.

Data we collect in the app

Account and profile data (name, email address, photo, language, sports, player level and match history); bookings, attendance and reviews; messages and images you send in chat; your city and clubs; push-notification tokens and device information; and technical logs and crash reports. Coaches additionally provide verification documents (identity document, coaching certificates) and the business details needed for payouts.

Location

With your permission, the app uses your device's location to show coaches, classes, clubs and players near you. Location is used for these discovery features only. You can withdraw permission at any time in your device settings and keep using the rest of the app.

Data we collect on the website

When you submit the coach contact form we collect your name, email, city, club (optional), WhatsApp number and display language, plus technical metadata (IP address, browser user agent). If you arrive via a marketing campaign we also store UTM parameters and the originating URL.

Lawful bases

We process personal data to perform our contract with you (accounts, bookings, payments, messaging); with your consent (location, push notifications, advertising cookies on the website); for our legitimate interests (securing the platform, preventing fraud and abuse, improving the product); and to comply with legal obligations (accounting, tax and dispute records).

Processors and recipients

We use Supabase (database, authentication, file storage — hosted in the EU), Stripe (payments and coach payouts), Google Firebase (push notifications), Google Maps (map display), Resend (transactional email) and Sentry (crash and error reporting). Other users can see your public profile: display name, photo, sports, player level, match results and reviews you publish. Coaches see the booking details of players who book with them. We never sell personal data.

International transfers

Some providers process data outside the European Economic Area, in particular in the United States. Where they do, we rely on recognised safeguards such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

Retention

Your data is kept while your account is active and deleted when your account is deleted, except records we are legally required to keep (such as payment and invoicing records, retained for the statutory accounting period). Coach verification documents are kept while you operate as a coach on Slice. Website coach leads are kept until you onboard or for 24 months, whichever comes first.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, database access is restricted with row-level security, and card numbers never touch our servers (they go directly to Stripe). No system is perfectly secure: if a breach ever affects your data, we will notify you and the supervisory authority as the law requires.

Children

Slice is not directed at children. You must be at least 16 to create an account (18 to offer coaching). A parent or guardian who books sessions for a minor does so through their own account and remains responsible for that use. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

You can access, rectify, erase, port, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and withdraw consent at any time. Write to support@slice.coach and we will respond within one month. You can delete your account directly in the app (Settings → Account) or at slice.coach/account/delete. You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL or your local supervisory authority.

Cookies

The website sets one technical cookie, slice_utm (30 days), to remember campaign parameters. Advertising pixels (Meta, Google Ads) are only loaded if you accept them in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time via the Cookies link in the footer. The app itself contains no advertising or cross-app tracking.

Delete your data

You can delete your account from the app (Settings → Account) or request deletion at slice.coach/account/delete. Choose immediate deletion or a 90-day grace window; we email you a confirmation link before anything is removed.
