Slice

Terms of service

Last updated: 11 June 2026.

These terms govern your use of the Slice mobile app and the slice.coach website, operated by Harry Lawrence ("Slice", "we"). By creating an account or using Slice you accept them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

What Slice is

Slice is a platform that connects tennis and padel players with independent coaches and with other players: booking, payments, messaging, match logging and tournaments.

Coaches are independent professionals, not employees or agents of Slice. When you book a session, class or tournament with a coach, the contract for that service is between you and the coach. Slice provides the tools, not the coaching.

Your account

You must be at least 16 to create an account, and 18 to offer services as a coach. Bookings for minors are made and managed by a parent or guardian from their own account, under their responsibility. Keep your sign-in credentials secure, keep your information accurate, and do not impersonate anyone. We may refuse or revoke accounts that violate these terms.

Bookings, prices and payment

Coaches set their own prices, schedules and cancellation policies. You pay online by card via our payment provider Stripe or, where the coach offers it, in person. Any Slice platform or service fee is shown before you confirm. Unless stated otherwise, prices include applicable taxes; each coach remains responsible for their own tax treatment.

Cancellations and refunds

Each coach's cancellation policy is shown before you book and determines any refund when you cancel. If a coach cancels a session, anything you paid online for that session is refunded in full, to the original payment method.

Because coaching sessions are leisure services scheduled for a specific date, the statutory 14-day withdrawal right for distance purchases does not apply (article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code and equivalent EU rules). Your other statutory rights are unaffected.

Additional terms for coaches

To offer services you must complete verification (identity document and coaching qualifications) and connect a Stripe account, which is subject to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement. You are solely responsible for the services you deliver: their content, quality and safety, your qualifications, any insurance you are required to hold, and your legal, social and tax obligations.

The Slice coach subscription is billed at the price shown when you subscribe, after any free period, and can be cancelled at any time with effect from the end of the current billing period. We may suspend or restrict coach accounts that breach these terms, giving reasons and notice where the law requires.

Your content

You keep ownership of the content you post (profile, photos, reviews, messages, class descriptions). You grant Slice a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and transmit that content for the purpose of operating and promoting the service. You confirm you hold the necessary rights to anything you post.

Reviews must reflect a genuine experience. We may remove or restrict content that is illegal or breaches these terms. To report illegal content: support@slice.coach.

Acceptable use

Do not harass or threaten other users, post unlawful or misleading content, record false match results, write fake reviews, circumvent the platform's security, scrape data, or use Slice for any purpose other than its intended one. Follow the rules of the clubs and venues where you play.

Sport and physical risk

Tennis and padel involve inherent physical risk. You are responsible for ensuring you are fit to play and for seeking medical advice if in doubt. Sessions, matches and tournaments take place under the responsibility of their participants and, where applicable, the coach delivering them. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Slice is not liable for injuries, accidents or losses occurring during physical activity arranged through the platform.

Liability

Slice is provided "as is". We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we are not a party to the contract between players and coaches, although we may assist in good faith with disputes.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Slice's total liability to you is limited to the greater of €100 or the fees you paid to Slice (excluding amounts paid to coaches) in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Suspension and closing your account

You can stop using Slice and delete your account at any time in the app (Settings → Account) or at slice.coach/account/delete. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms or the law, or where necessary to protect users or the platform; where the law requires, we will state our reasons and give prior notice. Clauses that by their nature should survive (content licence, liability, governing law) survive termination.

Slice's intellectual property

The Slice app, website, brand, logo and design are owned by Slice or its licensors. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable right to use the app and site for their intended purpose. Do not copy, modify, resell or reverse-engineer them except where the law allows.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. For material changes we will give reasonable advance notice in the app or by email; for coaches we give at least 15 days' notice where the law requires. Continuing to use Slice after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer, you also benefit from any mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings before the courts of that country. Consumers may also use an approved consumer mediation service; details are available on request from support@slice.coach.
